# Why aren’t my cards appearing on my Apple Watch?

> Learn how to fix Apple Watch sync problems

If you have just installed Barcodes on a new Apple Watch, your cards may not appear right away. Cards sync over iCloud, and the first sync can take a while - sometimes a few hours, especially the first time you install the app or set up a new watch.

## Check the iCloud sync status in Barcodes

1. Open Barcodes on your Apple Watch.
2. Swipe to the right from the main screen to open Settings.
3. Scroll down until you see `iCloud sync status`.
4. If it says `Succeeded`, the watch can reach iCloud and your cards should appear once syncing finishes.
5. If it says `Account not available`, or you see an iCloud sync error, continue with the steps below.

## Check Apple Account on the watch itself

The most common cause is that the watch has been signed out of iCloud, or Apple needs you to complete an account sign-in step again.

1. On your Apple Watch, open the system `Settings` app - not Barcodes.
2. Tap your Apple Account at the top.
3. If you see `Update Apple Account Settings`, open it and follow the prompts.
4. Sign back in if the watch asks you to.
5. Return to Barcodes and check `iCloud sync status` again.

<Tip>
Barcodes uses the same iCloud account as your Apple Watch. It cannot sign in to iCloud separately inside the app.

## Check iPhone iCloud settings too

1. Open the `Settings` app on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name at the top.
3. Tap `iCloud`.
4. Under `Saved to iCloud`, tap `See All`.
5. Confirm that Barcodes is listed and enabled.

## Common causes

These sync issues usually happen because:

* iCloud is still finishing the first sync to a new watch
* the Apple Watch has been logged out of iCloud or needs account verification
* Barcodes has been disabled in iPhone iCloud settings

## Still having issues?

If the watch is signed in correctly, Barcodes is enabled in iCloud on your iPhone, and the cards still do not appear after waiting a while, contact me through the support details in the app and I can look into it further.

If you want to check the basic setup steps too, see [How do I use my loyalty cards and reward cards on my Apple Watch?](/docs/en/apple-watch/loyalty-cards-apple-watch).
